Refuge from the Storm.

6 August 2015

For our August temple trip we decided to do a day trip to Indianapolis to go through the open house with you kids.  It is definitely not every day that we get to go inside the temple with you so we wanted to seize the opportunity.  It ended up being a super rainy day.  As we we walking across the parking lot to the temple, getting drenched from the downpour, the scripture (Doctrine & Covenants 115:5-6) about a refuge from the storm.  Indeed the House of God is a refuge from the societal storms of life.  We've been working as a family on reverence.  There are lots of times throughout the day and the week that we can have fun and loud, but there are certain sacred and special times when reverence is appropriate.  You kids did a great job walking quietly and trying to whisper when you had comments or questions.  The sweetest moment for me was when we walked in to the Celestial room together as a family.  It was so brilliant and white and beautiful but most of all I it brought tears to my eyes to have us all there and to think of our greatest goal to be an eternal family in the Celestial Kingdom.  Yes we have our ups and downs, sometimes more downs than ups, but I sure love you kiddos.  I am so grateful to be sealed to your Dad and to be building our family on eternal principles.
